Governor Edwin “Kuya Gob” Jubahib formally bids farewell to His Highness Tengku Putra from Malaysia’s Selangor royal family, concluding the latter’s three-day royal visit to the Province of Davao del Norte.
The Malaysian prince was the guest of honor during the celebration of the 59th Araw ng Davao del Norte and the 7th State of the Province Address (SOPA) of the governor last July 1, 2026.
The governor thanked His Highness during the send-off for bringing Malaysian investors to the province, which will help drive economic growth by creating local jobs, improving infrastructure, and generating tax revenues for public services.
During the Welcome Program on June 30, 2026 in honor of His Highness, the prince witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between Gov. Jubahib and SM Anand Subramaniam, President of SMA EcoGreen Corporation, for the establishment of a modern Energy-to-Waste Facility in the province.
During his SOPA, the governor announced more Malaysian investments coming to the province include the construction of a medical and health care facility, and establishment of a Halal Hub, “boosting our modern health care and services, and our great prospects in tapping into the vast potential of the halal economy.”
