The province of Davao del Norte is exploring stronger economic cooperation with Vietnam and other countries as the province continues to position itself as Mindanao’s gateway to Southeast Asia and a strategic destination for investments.
This was highlighted during the courtesy visit of the Trade Counsellor of the Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines, Mr. Le Phu Cuong, to the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, where he was personally welcomed by Governor Edwin “Kuya Gob” Jubahib, PG Department Heads, former Provincial Administrator Engr. Josie Jean Rabanoz, and SMA EcoGreen Corporation President Mr. SM Anand Subramaniam.
During the meeting, Le presented various investment opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in the manufacturing and agriculture sector, which he described as some of the country's key areas of economic growth. He also highlighted Vietnam’s strategic location as a connectivity hub in Asia, making it an attractive destination for international investors seeking access to regional markets.
Le personally invited Governor Jubahib to visit Vietnam to explore potential investment opportunities and meet with major companies in the country, which was warmly accepted by the governor.
The discussions also explored the potential economic boost that could be generated through the joint efforts of investors from Malaysia, Vietnam, and other countries, particularly through increased business linkages, investments, and collaborative ventures in the province.
Governor Jubahib assured the Trade Counsellor of the Provincial Government’s full support for potential investors seeking to establish businesses and projects in the province. He also emphasized that Davao del Norte is a safe and investment-ready destination, assuring potential investors that his administration is committed to creating an environment conducive to business growth and economic development.
The meeting also served as part of the preparations for the upcoming Expo Hub in October, which will provide companies from different countries an avenue to explore new business opportunities and potential parties in Davao Region. The event is expected to further strengthen economic linkages and open new doors for investments that could contribute to the continued development of Davao del Norte.
