Davao del Norte Civil Service Commission Field Director II Nelly Esperanza encouraged public employees to instill the value of compassion in their performance of duty towards the public, co-employees and the environment.

Anchored on the theme: “Sigaw ng Lingkod Bayani: Malasakit Para sa Taumbayan, Kapwa Kawani at Kalikasan,” CSC Director emphasized,“Compassion is the basis of morality. . . The theme emphasizes on the value of compassion to be in us civil servants amidst our multi-faceted roles. In the performance of public service, innate compassion must also be expressed towards our co-workers.

“We feel for compassion with action for our fellow workers, if we are conscious that our individual outputs are inputs to others. If we allow open, horizontal and vertical communications to gather these ideas from all members of the organization; if we recognize that no one has the monopoly of knowledge; and if we coached, mentoring our people for their professional goal so that no one at any point in time is indispensable to the organization especially in the public service,” added DavNor CSC Field Director.

Furthermore, she stressed that in the delivery of services, we must always consider the welfare of the community.

“We are compassionate with action for our environment. . . If we do so actions at the home front and in the office as a daily opportunity to take care of the environment, paper recycled, garbage segregated, level, garbage disposed and many other practices,” said Director Esperanza.

The CSC Director who was also a former functionary of the Department of Trade and Industry for 26 years, said that it is high time for the government to regain the public's trust and confidence.

“This is for us to become more relevant to the agencies we serve. . . that people’s trust and confidence, people’s expectation on government are at its highest levels. Let not this hope die again . . . . . Now is the time to make a difference in the lives of Filipino people,” concluded Director Nelly Esperanza to the hundreds of employees during the Monday Convocation last 05 September 2016 at Bulwagan ng Lalawigan.
