It is mandated that the Accountant's Office shall take charge of the accounting services of the provincial government. As usch, it shall review the supporting documents of vouchers, payrolls and other claims to determine completeness of requirement, maintain individual index cards for officials and employees of the province pertaining to premium contributions and various loan payments, prepare and submit monthly remittance lists/reports to various agencies concerned and provides a timely, updated, reliable reports as well as reconciled remittances.
To ensure a systematic and accurate accounting system, the office uses ENGAS(Electronic New Government Accounting System) in preparing Statement of Cash Advances, liquidation of salaries, allowances, reimbursements and remittances of the province. Likewise, the office is tasked to prepare and submit Financial Statements to the Governor, Sangguniang Panlalawigan and to the Commission on Audit. If deemed necessary, the office appraises the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members and other local officials of the financial condition and operation of the province.
