It is mandated in the Local Government Code that the Provincial Treasurer Office is responsible in providing technical advice to local and other officials concerned on financial matters; takes custody of and exercises proper management of funds; takes charge of remittances of statutory obligations. The office is responsible in rendering revenue collection operation on taxes, fees and charges authorized for him to collect; conducts inspection on private commercial and industrial establishments within the jurisdiction of the Province in relation to the implementation of Provincial Tax Ordinance and maintains and updates of the Tax Information System of the Province. The office is also responsible in keeping custody of accountable forms received/purchased form the Bureau of Internal Revenue and National Printing Office, Metro Manila and its proper issuance to requisitioning offices; and exercises technical supervision over treasury offices of its municipalities, component cities including Davao del Norte hospital cashiers.
