STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
MANDATES
The Provincial Information Office is mandated, in accordance with the Local Government Code of 1991, to provide public information as well as technical assistance and support to the Governor through information and research data with the end in view of increasing public awareness on government services and enabling them to fully avail of such services; to develop plans and strategies pursuant to the same with the approval of the Governor; to provide relevant adequate and timely information to the local government organizations as required by law or ordinance, and maintain effective liaison with various sectors affecting the livelihood and the quality of life of the inhabitants and encourage support for programs of the local and national government; to be in the frontline in providing information during and after calamities and disasters, with special attention to the victims, to help minimize injuries and casualties, and accelerate relief and rehabilitation; and give recommendations to the Sanggunian and advise to the Governor on all matters relative to public information and research data relating to socio-economic development.
