Malampuson ang gipahigayong validation sa probinsya sa Davao del Norte alang sa Gawad Kalasag sa PDRRMD Operation Center, Capitol Compound, Mankilam, Tagum City, niadtong Hulyo 19, 2023.

Ang validation team nga gikan sa rehiyon gilangkoban sa Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) ug Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Gitambongan sa mga personahe ug mga department head sa kapitolyo nga gipangunahan ni Provincial Administrator Engr. Josie Jean Rabanoz.

Sa mensahe ni Engr. Rabanoz, nanghinaut kini nga mapadayon sa probinsya ang kasamtangang estado nga beyond compliance sa Gawad Kalasag. Gidayeg ni Rabanoz ang aktibong suporta sa mga miyembro sa Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) alang sa mga programa kabahin sa katalagman. Dugang ni Rabanoz nga ilang gipaningkamotan ug hugtanon ang pag-implementar sa mga programa sa pagpangandam sa kalamidad.

“Last year we’ve garnered the highest beyond compliant and we’re looking forward nga ma-maintain unta namo ang amoang status. So, we are doing everything since last year. Continues ang paghimo, pagdala in terms of preparation, sa restoration, sa preparedness, hangtud sa pag-restore sa action during calamities, we really tried our very best especially our team sa PDRRMD,” sulti ni Engr. Rabanoz.

Gisaysay ni PDRRMD Head Glenda Delideli nga kabahin sa ilang pagpangandam sa maong assessment ang paglantaw sa mga gihimo sa milabayng tuig kauban ang partisipasyon sa mga miyembro sa council kalakip sab ang mga sakop sa prevention and mitigation committee, preparedness committee, disaster response committee ug ang disaster rehabilitation and recovery committee.

“Actually, kaning gawad kalasag is a yearly assessment conducted sa Regional Risk Reduction Management Council and also after ana ang result gina-forward sa National Risk Reduction Management Council for the final rating. Ang paagi sa pagpangandam namo for this year, gibalik namo og tan-aw what we have done in 2022. Hopefully, sa atong paningkamot with the leadership of Kuya Gov Edwin I. Jubahib, and also sa atoang Provincial Administrator Mam Josie Jean Rabanoz and also the members of the thematic areas and the entire members of the council, we are confident nga makuha gihapon nato ni,” pagbutyag ni Delideli.

Giklaro ni Cherryl Bernadita Osorio, OCD-lll, ang team leader sa mga evaluator nga gikan sa Office of Civil Defense Region XI nga igo lamang sila naghimo sa maong assessment apan ang final result alang sa Gawad Kalasag beyond compliance ibutyag sa nasyonal lebel. Giawhag ni Osorio ang mga probinsya nga beyond compliant nga tan-awon ang mga sakop nga LGU’s aron mamahimo sab kining beyond compliance.

“Actually, ang award is insentibo na lang sa efforts nga gihimo sa mga LGU’s but basically naa ang atong assessment because we want to ensure nga ang atoang mga local government unit compliant ta in terms of mga provisions included in the RA 10121 and other related national policies in connection to the implementation of DRM programs. Kung atong makita sa process ang rating namo as validators, wala gyud siya gipakita sa mga nag-attend karon because kita sa region we are not allowed to really say kung unsa ang mamahimong result ani kay ang official result coming from the national,” subay ni Osorio.

Ang Gawad Kalasag gitukod niadtong 1998 aron paghatag pasidungog sa mga LGU’s sa nasud nga nagpasiugda ug nagpatuman sa disaster reduction and management, climate change adaptation, humanitarian assistance programs ug nanalipod sa komunidad batok sa peligrong dala sa kalamidad.
