Pormal nga giablihan ang pianakaunang Alternative Learning System Senior High School (ALS SHS) Regional Summit 2023 sa Carmen Gym, Carmen, Davao del Norte, niadtong Nobyembre 23, 2023.

Gisugdan kini pinaagi sa ribbon cutting nga gipasiugdahan sa mga opisyales sa DepEd Region XI ug DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Teaching Gina O. Gonong.

Gikalipay ni DepEd Davao del Norte Division Superintendent Reynaldo B. Mellorida, CESO V, ang pag-host sa Davao del Norte sa pinakaunang ALS SHS Regional Summit 2023. Gikanayon niya nga dako’g ikatabang ang maong kalihokan alang sa mga magtutungha nga walay kapasidad sa pag-adto sa mga tulunghaan sa tamang oras. Dugang niya nga ang ALS Senior High School makatabang sa mga estudyante sa paghatag igong katakos ug kahanas nga sarang magamit alang sa pagpalambo sa ilang kaugmaon.

“The Alternative Learning System plays a crucial role in providing learning opportunities to those who may have missed out on formal schooling for many reasons. In this senior high school phase, the Alternative Learning System becomes crucial as it doesn’t provide anymore the basic literacy skills to learners but instead it provides the necessary competencies and qualifications for their future endeavors,” sulti ni Mellorida.

Malipayon si DepEd Region XI Director Allan G. Farnazo sa pag-abri sa pinakaunang ALS SHS Summit 2023. Nagpaabot kini sa iyang dakong pasalamat sa makanunayong suporta sa Probinsyal nga Panggamhanan sa Davao del Norte ubos sa pagdumala ni Governor Edwin “Kuya Gov” Jubahib.

“Mga kasama, pagyamanin natin sa pamamagitan ng ating discussion, sharing of experiences para ‘yong sinasabi ko na, in the making, ay maayos at matuwid ng maiksing panahon, na ang ating mga client ay hindi na produkto ng research 10 years from now, 15 years from now. Kaya binabati ko kayong lahat, and of course, nagpapasalamat ako sa napakagaling ng pagtanggap ng ating probinsya ng Davao del Norte through Governor Edwin Jubahib,” ingon ni Farnazo.

Nahimong keynote speaker sa maong tigom si DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Teaching Gina O. Gonong. Iyang gipasalamatan ang tanang mga naglihok alang sa katumanan ug kalampusan sa pilot implementation sa ALS SHS dinhi sa rehiyon. Gipasalamatan sab niya ang katambayayong nga mga local officials nga usa sa nahimong hinungdan sa naangkong kalampusan.

“Pwede nating sabihin, we are in the right track in the Department of Education because we are doing our best despite resource limitations. We’re doing our best to make sure that our education is inclusive, to make sure that we are responsive to the needs of our learners. And you know that happened not only because of DepEd but because of local government units,” matud ni Gonong.

Subay sa maong kalihokan, nipasundayag sa ilang kahanas sa nagkadaiyang Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track ang mga magtutungha sa ALS SHS sama sa Cookery, Food and Beverages Services, Bread and Pastry Production, Food Processing, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Shielded Metal Arc Welding ug Automotive.
