AN ORDER EXTENDING THE EFFECTIVITY OF THE GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE (GCQ) IN DAVAO DEL NORTE PROVINCE UNTIL 31 JANUARY 2021

WHEREAS, since the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak in the Philippines, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has implemented community quarantine restrictions of varying levels nationwide to counter the further spread of the virus in other areas of the country;

WHEREAS, the IATF-EID has recently placed Davao del Norte Province under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) among other identified risk areas in the country due to the rising number of COVID-19 local transmission;

WHEREAS, pursuant to the aforesaid declaration, the Provincial of Government issued Executive Order No. 67, s. 2020 (as duly amended by Executive Order No. 67-A, s. 2020) to enforce the implementation of GCQ throughout the Province;

WHEREAS, the Philippines remain to be under full alert amid the ongoing Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic around the globe and the threats of the new strain of the virus that may break anew into the country if left unguarded;

WHEREAS, with the need to sustain anti-COVID efforts in the country, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, upon the recommendation of the IATF-EID, announced on 28 December 2020 that Davao del Norte Province will join the other identified risk areas in the country to remain under GCQ until the end of January 2021;

WHEREAS, pursuant to this latest declaration and with the continuing urgency to defeat the COVID-19 local and community transmissions, there is a need to extend the effectivity of GCQ in the entire Province;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDWIN I. JUBAHIB, Governor of the Province of Davao del Norte, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order the following:

Section 1. Declaration. It is hereby declared that the Province of Davao del Norte shall remain under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) until 31 January 2021.

Section 2. Policies and Guidelines. The policies and guidelines as provided under Executive Order No. 67, s. 2020 (as duly amended by Executive Order No. 67-A, s. 2020) shall remain in full force.

Section 3. Penalty Clause. Any violations thereof shall be dealt with under our existing laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Section 4. Effectivity. This Executive Order shall take effect on 01 January 2021 and shall remain in full force unless revoked or amended.
