Davao del Norte receives two (2) new Mobile Dental Buses from the Department of Health Central Office. Said buses will reinforce DavNor Provincial Health Office (PHO) Dental Program and ultimately help the program reach more Dabaonons across the region.

Davao del Norte is one of the Philippine provinces given Mobile Dental Buses as part of the Health Facility Enhancement Program of the Department of Health.

According to Dr. Ma. Cristina Jimena, Dentist IV of the Provincial Health Office, said Dental Buses are ready to give free dental services anywhere in the province. “The Mobile Dental Bus is ready to serve for the constituents of Davao del Norte for all ages, but we have a priority age like the children, the pregnant women, the adult and the senior citizen,” said Dr. Jimena.

The dental buses will be used to extend free dental services such as Tooth Extraction, Application of Sealant, Oral Examination and Filling of Teeth. These services are highlighted in PHO’s priority program, “Sagipin Unang Ngipin”. Said program gives priority to children and pregnant women for a quality pre-natal care.

“Kailangan talaga yung mga buntis na mag-undergo ng Dental Check Up to achieve quality pre-natal care. Kung hindi kasi makasali ng Dental Check-Up, hindi mo ma-consider ang isang buntis na quality ang kanyang pagpapa-check-up,” [Pregnant Women need to undergo Dental Check Up to achieve quality pre-natal care. If they do not include Dental Check-up, we cannot really consider a pregnant woman undergoing quality check-up], added Dr. Jimena.

Each Mobile Dental Bus amount to 3.9 Million Pesos fully furnished with the necessary tools and equipment catering to different dental services.

Outside its regular activities, the PHO and its Dental Health Unit are ready to extend help with the aid of the new Mobile Dental Buses to Non-Government Organizations and other Government Agencies that will request their service.

DavNor PHO is very grateful for the two (2) new Mobile Dental Buses for their timely arrival. With the PHO’s ongoing free dental services, they look forward to expanding their reach to Dabaonons especially those situated in the peripheries.
