The provincial government of Davao del Norte jumpstarted the celebration of the 116th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary in the province, raising the banner of excellence in public service in the province.

During the kick-off ceremony at the recent Monday Convocation Program, Governor Anthony del Rosario recognized the hard work of the provincial employees in helping the province attain its premier status.

The governor asked the Capitol personnel to strive to be more competent, efficient and effective public servants, as well as to strengthen their resolve in helping “bring the Dabaonons forward to a better future.”

“I want every executive and personnel of the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte to be the model of our performance branding, ‘Basta DavNor, the Best'," del Rosario said.

Anchored on the theme, “Sigaw ng Lingkod Bayani: Malasakit Para Sa Taumbayan, Kapwa Kawani, at Kalikasan," the province lined up activities for the month-long celebration that aim to instill “malasakit” (compassion) among public servants and among the constituents.

These include: Learning and Development Seminar from the end of August to September 27, offering sessions on personal values, basic computer literacy, facilitation skills and personality development; Health and Wellness with the Medical outreach on September 13, providing free medical examinations for employees; DDN Capitolympics on September 26, promoting healthy lifestyle and give capitol employees a fruitful break from their tedious work routine; and Grand Awarding Ceremony on September 29 recognizing public servants, who have manifested meritorious achievements in the service.

Provincial Human Resource and Management Officer Monica Salido said the activities intend to promote the well-being of the employees and inspire them to work beyond mediocrity in serving the best interest of the people.

“Especially sa Health, gusto ni Governor na ang mga empleyado healthy, mao na it’s all year round, dili lang na siya karon na bulan, kung pwede naa gyud mi activities na makaayo sa kinabuhi sa empleyado [Especially in health, the governor wants the employees to be healthy, that is why it’s all year round, not just this month, if possible we have activities intended to improve the employees' lives]” Salido said.
