Davao del Norte - The governor of the province, Kuya Gob Edwin Jubahib, who has gone out of his way to fight for the confidential fund which was denied by the Sanggunian Panlalawigan body, has stood his ground for his causa as the leader of DavNor.

The Confidential Fund which aids in the performance and delivery of pertinent services of provincial governors all over the country was not approved by the SP for reasons only known to those who did not support its implementation.

“It should have been used for beneficial purposes for all the neighboring cities and municipalities of our province, especially for insurgencies or illegal drugs-related concerns”, said Kuya Gob in a brief interview.

When asked if he will waver after the series of deliberations that resulted to a passive decision from the Sanggunian, he was quick to say “As your governor, I will not falter. Dili jud ko mawad-an ug paglaom nga maka deliver gihapon ta ug serbisyo maskin dili ta nahatagan ug confidential fund. Dako jud n inga pagsulay, especially nga daghan constituents nato nga matabangan ani.”

The governor discussed the plight of the large number of rebel returnees (Friends Rescued) and the Geographically Isolated Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) that have benefited from this fund. “Nagpasalamat ko nga nisalig ang mga rebelde ug nisurrender sila, mao nga kinahanglan unta nato ma sustain ang ilahang panginabuhi aron dili na sila mobalik sa armado nga pakigbisog,” this was the sentiment of the governor when asked of his plans for the returnees and their communities.

He stressed that they will be greatly affected with the turn out of events in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. But being a man of the masses, Jubahib was confident in saying, “Sa ing ani nga panghitabo, normal nga maguol ta, pero mobarog gihapon ta. Mangita ta ug mga pamaagi aron ma-sustain ang panginabuhi sa atoang kaigsuonan sa maong dapit”.

Jubahib is grateful to the trust and confidence coming from MGen Nicolas Mempin of the 10th Infantry Division, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the men in uniform who religiously supports his advocacies. “Nagpasalamat ko sa suporta gikan sa atong mga kasundaluhan, mao kini ang akong “driving force” aron makahatag gihapon ta ug tabang sa atong mga kaigsuonan nga nanginahanglan,” affirms Jubahib.

As of press time, Jubahib remains confident and unfazed by rumors and issues surrounding his administration. He said that as soon as he was re-elected, he has pledged his whole being to serving Dabaonons even with detractors trying to shake his composure. “Dili jud ta papildi anang mga isyu, kay mas important ang katawhan. Sila atong serbisyuhan, dili ang atong kaugalingon”.

Most recently, Jubahib was recognized by an award-giving body, putting him on the 8th spot ( 82% ) as one of the best-performing governors of the country. (gee/tmn)
