As matters on salary raise and other benefits due to employees are resolved by the Local Government Code, the Provincial Administrator also stressed that it is only due that all employees will submit to the drug testing as support to President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against illegal drug. As a response, about a thousand employees voluntarily submitted to the surprise drug test facilitated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Karong buntaga, we will allow ourselves for a mandatory random drug test to be conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. . . Ayaw mo kahadlok kung wala mo’y gitago [This morning, we will allow ourselves for a mandatory random drug test to be conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency… There is nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide],” said Sanchez.
