In compliance with the Universal Health Care Act (UHCA), the province of Davao del Norte inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with PharmaCare Plus, Inc., to beef up provision of primary health care benefits to its constituents.
Governor Edwin Jubahib and Maria Jesusa Viray, President and CEO of PharmaCare Plus, Inc., signed the agreement, which aims to improve access to the PhilHealth Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (PhilHealth KonSulTa) Package.
The initiative intends to provide life-saving preventive healthcare services under the UHCA, in improving the quality of life of the Dabaonon people.
Under the KonSulta program, members are given access to free medical consultations, free health risk screening and assessment, free selected laboratory and diagnostic testing, and free selected drugs and medicines.
Viray said Pharmacare will soon put up the Aruga Center for Care in Tagum City, which is the company’s first-ever primary care facility in Mindanao, to provide KonSulta Package services to all Dabaonons.
Out of 16 accredited KonSulTa Package Providers in Davao del Norte, only three private health care facilities are included as of June 30, 2023.
Viray bared Jubahib’s sincere effort in improving the health and well-being of his people made it possible for them to smoothly close the deal.
“Sa mga nakausap namin, si Governor Edwin ang pinakaunang nag-express ng concern kung paano niya matutulongan yung kanyang mga constituents in terms of health,” she said.
Being an integral part of his KUYA GOV NG MASA development agenda, Jubahib vigorously pursued health care as an important precondition and indicator of socio-economic development.
As he made sure Capitol’s health programs reach the most vulnerable sectors, his Zero-Billing Program has since benefitted more than 150,000 indigent patients, preventing them from being pushed further into poverty because of prohibitive medical expenses.
