Representatives from the Persons With Disabilities sector, Engr. Darlito Palermo and Jun Biag were the first to test-ride the said elevator going up to the second floor of the Capitol main building.

Compliant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 344 also known as Accessibility Law under the Republic Act 7277 or the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons Chapter 6 Section 25, the said law encourages all establishments to provide Barrier Free establishments by placing ramps for one-storey buildings and provide elevators or lifts for buildings with two storeys or more.

Funds for the said project were sourced from the 20% Development Fund. The project was completed within the eight (8) months since it started.

This is a project funded worth six million pesos coming from the 20% Development Fund of 2015,” explained Governor AGR, adding in jest that the recognition goes to his administration even though the project started during his father’s term, then Governor Rodolfo del Rosario.

The blessing was attended by all Board Members and some department heads of the Capitol.
