Andam nga gidawat sa probinsyal nga kagamhanan ni Gobernador Anthony del Rosario ang pagdumala sa Davao del Norte Provincial Rehabilitation Center (DPRC) gikan sa Bureau of Jail Management Penology (BJM) kagahapon, Hunyo 15, 2017 uban sa pag-ila sa dignidad sa mga preso sa pagtawag kanila nga “boarders.”
Kahinumduman nga niadtong 2011, ang DPRC gidumala sa BJMP apan sumala sa RA 7160 kun Local Government Code, wala iapil ang provincial jail nga mailawom sa ilang pagdumala hinungdan sa pag-uli niini ngadto sa lokal nga kagamhanan.
“We will accept the management of a correctional facility which is called the Davao del Norte Provincial Rehabilitation Center. . . our primary clients . . are detainees . . . I will not call them “detainees,” instead. . . as “boarders,” because dili man ni sila permanent. “Last October 2016 I was here for a National Correctional Consciousness celebration. I was informed then that more than 60% of our DPRC boarders are facing drug-related charges. . . One big test is the probability of the “continuance” of illegal drug trade inside this facility. Easy money is so tempting. . . our OIC Warden . . is listening together with the watchmen that are present. I do not want to find out that there are drugs in the Davao del Norte Provincial Rehabilitation Center. Bisan pa man kung ilawom na sa probinsya ang pagdumala sa pasilidad, apan giklaro ni gobernador Anthony nga sagopon gihapon ang programa sa BJMP nga “Oplan RODY.” Kini nagkahulogan ug R-Removal & punishment of scalawags & personnel/officers involved in illegal drug trade & corruption; O-Offensive operations versus illegal drugs inside jail facilities; D-Decongestion of jails & disbandment of inmates’ gangs protecting drug lords; ug ang Y-Yes to discipline & control of inmates through effective classifications & segregation & adoption of a unified jail system.
“Importante ho yan because we have to make sure in support of our beloved President. We have to make sure that we have to follow his Oplan RODY as far as the Davao del Norte Provincial Jail is concerned,” pagklaro ni Gobernador del Rosario.
Sa kasamtangan, ang DPRC adunay 200 ka mga preso apan matod ni DavNor Provincial Administrator Samson Sanchez nga sa dili madugay ilang “iuli” ang pito sanglit taga Davao City kini.
