With partnerships from the private sector, Davao del Norte stands tall as to budget among the two other Davao provinces simultaneously celebrating the 50th year anniversary on July 1, 2017.
Ms. Nilda S. Aniñon, Information Officer of Davao del Sur bared that P11.45M was allocated for the celebration while Art Benjie Bulaong, Provincial Administrator of Davao Oriental said no more than P10M was budgeted for the event duration.
“For Davao del Norte more or less we have prepared around 30 million for this for the preparation, but one half of this be shouldered by the private sector. So there are many private sectors who help us a lot, as sponsors for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the province,” said DavNor Provincial Planning Development Officer Engineer Josie Jean Rabanoz before press people during Kapihan sa PIA on Thursday, June 22.
Major and minor sponsors for DavNor golden anniversary includes Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc., the official partner of the 50th Araw ng Davao del Norte celebration and major sponsors Ulticon Builders, Inc., Davao Light and Power Company, Med 13, and RVE Farm & BEB's TRADING.
Minor Sponsors include Hijo Resources Corp., Davao Metro Shuttle, Holcim Mining and Development Corp., Holiday Garden Island and CWN Development Corp., Davao Rock Mixer Enterprises, Landbank of the Philippines, Jollibee by Tagum Pioneer Foods Corporation, Four Seasons Fruits Corporation Manufacturer Exporter, Isla Reta Beach Resort, Sumifru Philippines Corp., Maximus Structural Innovations, Inc., Bon Homie Leisure and Resort, Rely Construction and Supply, Tagum Cooperative, Inc., and Superstar Banana.

One of the highlights of the golden anniversary was the comeback of Bb. DavNor which was last staged way back 2004. Donors for the event include Activo Fitness, the official fitness partner; Sui Essentials Salon & Spa and Beaute Derm, the official skin care provider; Joy Cabahug-Soo, the official tabulator; Kingchey, official IT units provider and Royalhouse & Big 8 Corporate Hotel as the official residences of 18 Binibining DavNor candidates.
Since May 12, DavNor kicks-off as day-zero by starting the 50-day countdown until July 1. Last June 23, another highlight was the opening of the Kadagayaan Festival showcasing the province’ abundant harvests of different crops and commodities along with nightly activities until D-day. Last June 25, another big event, the first MUSAMAN TriDavNor National Triathlon which featured international, national and local athletes and celebrities like Kim Atienza of ABS-CBN. The golden anniversary was capped with fireworks display and Wet & Wild party.
With Martial Law in effect until during the golden celebration, DavNor assured everybody of the safety of all participants and spectators.
