Members of the Sagayen National High School Performing Arts from Asuncion town swayed their way to win the championship of the first Hudyaka Street Dancing competition that highlighted the golden anniversary celebration of Davao del Norte.
Asuncion brought home the coveted grand price of P500,000 with their graceful presentation of the Sinawug Festival of the Ka'agan Tribe.
They received an additional cash prize of P20,000 from Tagum Development Company, Inc (TADECO), which was the official partner of the 50th Araw ng Davao del Norte festivities.
Hudyaka which means "revelry” is one of the maiden competitions launched by the province, which was joined by contingents from neighboring provinces.
The Katribu Mindanao Ensemble from the municipality of Kapalong won the second place, bagging P300,000 cash prize with their artful interpretation of the Musa Festival.
Coming in third place is Sto. Tomas National High School  of Sto. Tomas town with their exciting rendition of the Gaani Festival earning them P200,000 cash prize.
Governor Anthony del Rosario hailed the rousing choreographies, dance styles, and stunts that showcased the rich culture and heritage of the communities of the province.
“This reflect the endearing qualities of fortitude, grace, resiliency, generosity and gratitude of the communities of Davao del Norte,” the governor said. 
The street dance competition heated up the Alay DavNor Walk charity parade during the golden foundation day.
The parade-for-a-cause aimed to raise funds for the charity programs of the Alay Davao Foundation, Inc.
