Davao del Norte – The Province of Davao del Norte is wrapping up its yearlong Golden Jubilee celebrations on a happy note, as it is set to mark its 51st Founding Anniversary on July 1, 2018 with a bang.
Presidential daughter Mayor Sara Duterte will grace the Anniversary Program at the RDR Gym and Cultural Center, with the theme, “Bawat Araw, May Biyaya ng Pagbabago.”
Preparations were put to high gear over a month ago, with preliminary activities held in the various local government units in the province.
Governor Anthony del Rosario will lead the weeklong festivity starting on June 22, 2018, which features the Musa Man DavNor Triathlon, Kadagayaan Festival (Agri-Tourism Fair), BIMP-EAGA Tourism Expo, Bb. DavNor 2018 Coronation Night, 1st Mindanao-Wide Dog Sports Competition, Farmers-Technicians’ Day, Basta DavNor Sikat! Talent Grandfinals, Inter-LGU Basketball Championship, Hanas Dabaonon Skills Competition, Hudyaka Street Dancing, and nightly activities, among others.
Making this year’s celebration more meaningful is the three-day Festival of Services from June 26-28 at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex (DNSTC) Grounds.
The governor said the event presents yet another opportunity for the Dabaonon people to honor their proud heritage, to learn lessons from the past and to chart the way forward in attaining the best Davao del Norte.
He said last year’s Golden Jubilee celebrations enabled the people to define the Davao del Norte that they want. So that it has given them a new sense of purpose, a stronger sense of themselves, as well as their past and present, as they renew their strength in making the most of every opportunity that they face in this increasingly globalizing world.
“We continue to tread the path of relevant change and endeavor to provide all our people the best opportunities each day to achieve inclusive sustainable development,” del Rosario said.
Once again, the Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. (TADECO) is this year’s 51st founding anniversary official partner, together with the Ulticon Builders, Inc.
