Davao del Norte kept its momentum as among the most progressive provinces in the Davao Region under the helm of Governor Anthony del Rosario.

This is the central message of the 3rd State of the Province Address of the governor, dubbed as Ulat ng Pagbabago, where he shut up his detractors by citing his accomplishments in pursuing his BEST PEOPLE development agenda.

In his two-hour SOPA, which has over 60 applause interruptions, Gov. AGR, as he is fondly called, showed off his numerous achievements, which, he said, built upon the legacy of transformational change.

These include, among others, the amplified delivery of services with the success of the BEST PEOPLE Festival of Services; bigger budget; improving food sufficiency; increasing investor confidence as evidenced by the rising new business registrants and the recognition as the 3rd Most Competitive Province in the Philippines; Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping; relative peace and order condition; expanding infrastructure network; and a number of accolades to include the highest award for the cutting-edge eGovernance Program of the province.

“The… living legacy of transformative leadership delivered results that impacted the lives of our people and their communities,” he said.

In the middle of giving a hearty tribute to his predecessor during the prologue, the governor paused and went down to embrace his father, former Governor Rodolfo del Rosario, who was seated among the important guests.

The emotional testimonial drew a rousing ovation from the appreciative audience lasting for about five minutes.

The governor bared the province stands to capture billions of pesos from the national budget this year to fund more roads, bridges, health facilities, day care centers, water systems, flood control projects, and other infrastructures.

Gov. AGR, who is running as congressman of the 1st District, asked the Dabaonons to choose his successor, who shares the same values and core principles as his. “This leader must steer our people to continually embrace the spirit of reform, recognizing that only by keeping up with the ever-changing world in a truly collaborative manner can we ensure our stability, relevance, and greatness,” he stressed.
